Regensburg-Pécs Tandem 1.
My students from Regensburg spent a week in Pécs at the end of March. This was a study trip, and the aim was to practise the Hungarian language and to learn more about Hungary and the Hungarian culture. We had a lot of fun in this week!
Actually the programme is called “Tandem programme”, because each student from Regensburg had a student from Pécs as partner, who helped him/her to realize a little project in the city. There were very interesting topics, like: beerproduction and beerconsumption in Pécs; problems of disabled people in Pécs; ecological design; ownership right in Hungary; theaterlife in Pécs and the university theater. The students from Pécs going to come to Regensburg in June. We are looking forward to meet them again!
On the first day we made a city tour with our guide, Mónika. I was very happy that my students could remember on lot of things I already told them about Pécs. But of course we learned a lot of new informations about the city (I too). For example I also did not know before that there is an altar in the cathedral, which was originally made for the pope. But he found that it’s too expensive. So, the bishop of Pécs bought it. He had enough money for that…
We had also on the University of Pécs a nice reception, and we walked along the beautiful botanic garden of the university.
Here are some pictures about the first day of the “Tandem Programm”:
