Regensburg-Pécs Tandem 4.

Finally the time was coming:

The students of the University Pécs were coming to Regensburg for a week between the 21th and 28th of June. And my task was now to receive them as “Regensburger host” – although this city brings to me also something new every day. But I hope, I could show them the most beautiful places of Regensburg. Of course, the students of the University Regensburg also helped me a lot. For example they received the Hungarian students with Bavarian specialities in the first evening.

The project works of the students were also very interesting: they examined the cinemas of Regensburg, the architecture of the citycentre, the Bavarian Theaterdays and the Waldorf-kindergarden of Regensburg. But we also asked the people what they know about Hungary.

Of course we made some exursions in the surroundings. “On the Danube, Hungarians!” – could be our slogan for these excursions, because we voyaged twice on the Bavarian Danube. First we were swimming down to Walhalla, on the second time we sailed against the stream through the Danube Aperture to the Abbey of Weltenburg. In Weltenburg we could taste the famous beers of the abbey, for example the Barock Dunkel. The students took part on the supporting for the German team on the World Cup – and have seen the joy of the fans after two games the have won.

It seems so that the students who took part in the Tandem project became very good friends. I hope, they are also keeping contact and will visit eachother. After all Pécs and Regensburg are not far away from eachother…
